Super Junior’s Hangeng vows not to give up on the Korean industry

Although Super Junior’s Hangeng is still embroiled in a lawsuit with entertainment agency SM Entertainment, he has been focusing on his career in the Chinese market, but that does not mean the end of his time in the Korean entertainment industry.

Hangeng is now working solo in China as a singer but this is taking its toll on him as he has revealed that being on your own is more stressful than being in a group where you do one allocated part. The lawsuit started in December last year, but Hangeng has been getting on with trying to gain success in the Chinese market. His first Chinese solo album Geng Xin was released in July and has sold over 350,000 copies in China, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and Hong Kong. A new version containing 10 songs and seven music videos will be released on October 1st.

He still believes that he has Korean fans, saying,

“There are still fans who are supporting me over there after all”.

It is easy to call Hangeng successful already as he has already bagged a nomination for Most Popular Mainland Male Singer at the 10th CCTV-MTV Music Awards where he is competing alongside C-Pop singers such as Sun Nan, Wang Feng, Chen Kun, Huang Xiaoming for the title on October 18th.

Hopefully Hangeng will not forget his Korean fans in his success and will one day go back and cater for them once he has secured his Chinese position in the entertainment industry. I’m sure the fans in Korea will welcome him back any day.
